Even a ladybug is astonishing and full of wonder if you stop and look at it. Have you ever really looked closely at a ladybug? I imagine God with a huge paintbrush (that has a tiny tip) painting all the spots on the ladybug when he created them.
Ok, now for an update on school... We started on Monday, so today was Day 3.
Lake is thinking, "what in the world? I guess I will go with these crazy people."
Then, we pray for good attitudes and eager minds and to glorify God with school.
Then we have a devotion using the best book..
We do Math (Saxon),
Benjamin Reece Blackiston- super smarty pants.
the bonus question... oooh, ummmmm,
Got it! The proud student.
I love the light coming in the windows in the mornings.

I want to eat them up when they are figuring out answers.
They are so cute!
I love every second of homeschooling. I want you to know that when I talk about it, I don't at all want to put down non-homeschooling moms. I KNOW that God has different plans for different families.
I just love to share my heart and how exhilarating it is to be with your kids when they get the bonus question. I practically do a standing back tuck.
I also love teaching them the Word of God and learning about God's creation together. I feel like I started school 3 days ago too.
Anyway, it is WAY more fun than I thought it would be.
My friends have asked how long I spend homeschooling. I keep going as long as they love what we are doing. So far, they want to keep learning because it is fun. I know that may change but for now, it is just a big chunk of "play time" for them so they don't want to stop.

You are an inspiration to me Stephanie! I can clearly see Christ Shinning through you in all that you do and say. What a blessing to come to your blog! You have a gift for teaching and I have no doubt that this is where the Lords wants you. :0)
What a great time!! First of all, I love Saxon math! It is the bomb. Also, I didn't know Reece's first name was Benjamin! LOVE it! ;)
You're such a good momma. And thanks for the disclaimer about non-homeschooling moms, as I am excited about sending my kids to our wonderful Georgia public schools! I was just thinking about how school starts here for the kids tomorrow morning. In three years, that will be Andrew!! (And Benjamin will start special-needs pre-school in three years, too, when he is three.) Crazy!!!
Love ya, girl. Tell Tim thanks for lending us the book!! And those notecards you gave me rock. You guys are seriously so selfless. :)
Wow! Brooklynn, Bentley& I all want to go to your school!! I am so glad you ar having fun with it! You are making me strongly consider it even more than I have in the past!
hi stephanie,
wow! thanks for sharing how school is going for you so far. your boys are just too adorable. i'm starting homeschooling lj in about 1 1/2 weeks. i'm starting to get nervous but i'm praying that i will have the same enthusiasm as you. living in los angeles, i get a TON of criticism for wanting to homeschool. i'm constantly being asked why i'm wasting my nursing degree.
if you have any tips and recommendations at all about homeschooling, please share with me, as i'm getting excited/anxious about it.
thanks,
mary anne
Wow, I am so impressed with you!!! It amazes me how much you know about the Bible. I admire that you are homeschooling and that you do it well...I have no patience whatsoever...even here at work when I have to train somebody I think they are supposed to just know everything. I think it is where I am so high strung and hyper that I go too fast for people...who knows. Enjoy this time you have with your kids before they grow up...Davis is turning 10 this month and it just seems to fly by!!!
Great post. Loved seeing all the pics. We are a few weeks behind because of a late summer vacation, but that is one of the joys of HS. It just gets better and better. We love Saxon too, Five in a Row series for reading, Story of the World for history, God's world for science, God and Me for devotions. Off we go to Kinder and 3rd grade. Thanks for the encouragement. Those boys are genius! How was the Monday night biblestudy? I prayed for your fellowship. Oh yeah, my girls saw the same moon (or God's finger) in the sky last night.
The marching, praying, pledge, all of it makes me feel super happy and full of love and joy! I am praying for Bri to get excited too! Please pray for that with me! Looks like the funnest ever.
