But who do YOU say that I am?

I am still sitting here sweating but my fever is going down. The boys are in MDO today and so it is peaceful as I type. Thank you for praying for me. It has been a tough week.
I am still reading through Matthew and came to these verses...

"When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I... am?"
So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets."
He said to them, 'But who do you say that I am?'
Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."
Matthew 16:13-15
But who do YOU say that I am? That is a question that He is still asking today. Who do you say that Jesus is? Let's look at some of our options.... Was He just a prophet like so many others?, was He just a good man who did good things?, Was he a lunatic that made claims He could not back up?, or could He have been God in human flesh sent here to die and be our only hope of forgiveness? This question must be answered in every single person's life. I believe we will stand before God and give an account of our answer to this question. If you have resolved to believe that Jesus IS the Christ, the Son of the living God, then you are covered by His righteousness. If you do not know how you would answer this question, please spend time figuring it out. This is the most important question of your life. The answer to this ONE question will affect your life now and through all of eternity.
In the book, Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis says this...
"A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic - on the level with a man who says he is a poached egg - or he would be the devil of hell. You must take your choice. Either this was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us."
*********************************
Jesus, help our lives to reflect our answer to this question. Help us to serve you with our whole hearts because you are the Christ, the Son of the Living God and you came here in order to save us. Thank You that You are worthy of our praise. Thank You that You are Who You say You are...the way, the truth and the life and that no one comes to the Father except through You (John 14:6). Father, I pray for anyone reading this who does not know the answer to this question, that You would reveal Yourself to them and that they would come to know You.
Thank You that You love us and that You desire a one-on-one relationship with us just as You did with your disciples.
Be Blessed~
Steph
