Protected by the POWER OF HIS NAME

Last week, we went to the Aquarium with our friends April and Allen and their 3 kids. The Chattanooga Aquarium is really cool. God's creation is just mind-blowing. Here is a fun fact... did you know that the male Seahorse carries the babies and takes care of them? Pretty wacky, huh?
There was one specific butterfly that ministered to my heart so much. Creation really does point straight to the Creator. I was full of Worship by the time we left there. This butterfly stopped me in my tracks, shouting a truth I needed to hear just by looking at it's wing. There is a huge owl eye on it in order to protect it from predators. Can you believe that? You know God did that specifically to protect it from enemies. I imagine God with a huge paint brush painting a perfect owl eye on it's wing. The butterfly probably doesn't even know the owl eye is there... just as we can't see how God protects us everyday. This butterfly wing brought me so much peace and here is why...
I worry a lot about what the future holds due to the election. I imagine myself homeschooling out of a bunker in a cave sometimes. I can get pretty paranoid.. ask Tim. I wonder about Christian persecution and all the turmoil that is spoken about in the Bible when talking about 'end times'.
I truly believe we are living in 'the end times' meaning the earth is being prepared for Jesus' soon return. Everything is falling perfectly into prophetic place. The King is coming and everything is lining up for His entrance.
As a mom with little ones, uncertainty can produce fear. To see this butterfly and it's God-given protection encouraged my fearful heart. It clearly stated that God WILL BE OUR PROTECTOR. He WILL take care of us no matter the size of our enemy. His protection surrounds His children. May we rest in His protection and His jealous love for us.
Know that, as a Christian, you are marked. Not with an owl eye but with the name of Jesus.
And everything bows in submission to the name Jesus.
"You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance."
Psalm 32:7
"I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them BY THE POWER OF YOUR NAME–the name you gave me..."
Jesus in John 17:11

"...He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world."
1 John 4:4

Stephanie,

You are wise beyond your years! What a blessing; I've just read one update!

You are so on target ... it can't be long until Jesus comes. We have David Jeremiah's new book and have been following his prophecy series, and like you, watching so much fall in place.

We could see / experience some bad stuff, but keep focus! Hold to the promise that God's mercies are new every morning, great is His faithfulness.

You will have a world of support if you choose to homeschool ... which would be wise. Have you seen the NEA 2008 resolutions? They are a travesty!

Blessings to you!

Hey girlie! I love that sweet butterfly. You are right-that little guy has no idea that he has God given protection. How cool is that? We can feel sometimes that we are on our own but we are not! God is with us protecting and loving us every step of the way!

What a neat illustration! The other day I was just reading some notes regarding the election and how it relates to Bible prophecy by Jimmy DeYoung. He was also talking about how everything is lining up to fulfill prophecy. I'm intrigued what you have to share as well.

We too have been doing a lot of rapture/prophecy discussions at our house. This is a scary....yet exciting time. It really makes me wanna strive to live for Jesus instead of in the world....as I expect us to be outta here rather shortly. Just last night, Jeremy and I were reading the children's book Jesus is Coming Back by Debby Anderson to our kiddies........it just seemed very appropriate given the events taking place in our world. It is amazing to know that the King of Kings is coming and we'll be together with Him forever!
