Savior like a Shepherd Lead Us...

"He tends his flock like a shepherd:
He gathers the lambs in his arms
and carries them close to his heart;
he gently leads those that have young."
Isaiah 40:11
I am reading straight through the Bible. That is where these verses come from if you are wondering. This one that I read today is one of my all-time favorite verses in the Bible.
I love the picture it paints of Jesus being our shepherd, but, what is even cooler is the special place in His heart He has for moms with little children.
"He gently leads those that have young."
Isn't that so encouraging?
The gentleness of God directed toward US moms... WOW.
The "wow" really comes in when you read the next verse and it talks about how
God can measure all the waters in the hollow of his hand.
(I hope you are looking at the palm of your hand right now realizing that God can hold all of the oceans, rivers, lakes, etc.. in the hollow of His hand.)
He is THAT mighty but still gentle with us and holding us close to His heart.
Wow.
One of the earliest memories I have is of my mom rocking me in a rocking chair singing the hymn Savior Like a Shepherd Lead Us. It was comforting then and it is even more comforting now.
I pray that you will know just how close to His heart He carries you and how gently He is leading you in these years with little ones.

Steph, That is an awesome reminder on such a beautiful day. I love that hymn. My parents had it sung at their wedding, and Matthew and I had it played as a violin duet during ours. He is so, so good to us. :)
