"But blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
He will be like a tree planted by water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit."
Jeremiah 17:7,8

I want so badly to be like that tree. I want my roots planted in the stream of God's Word so that when the heat comes, I don't fear. That my hidden support system in this world is the Word of God and the Holy Spirit filling me everyday to pop out those beautiful green leaves. May we catch a glimpse of the POWER of a heart that trusts in God through these verses. May we send our roots deep in the ground and attach them to the streams of fresh water by knowing His Word and trusting Him when the year of drought comes. And may we never fail to bear fruit in order to show the world that we are His and He is our source of life.
"but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life."
John 4:14

What a beautiful reminder Steph to dig our roots in and to drink from the living water.

WOW Steph! It is amazing that this is your blog for Monday. That is when Jeremy was having his eye surgery (BTW thanks for calling to check on him and me). Although I rested in His peace as the surgery took place, there were times (namely Friday night) when I needed to place my confidence in Him and not worry. Thank you for the poignant reminder!
